What is the difference between AVIF and PNG?
AVIF is a newer, very efficient image format. Browsers show it, but many desktop apps, editors and upload forms can't open it yet. PNG is lossless and supports transparency, which makes it ideal for graphics and screenshots, but photos saved as PNG are large.
